'Operation Toofan: The Narco Hunt' 2.0 'Toofan Thadeshakam'
'Thoofan Local' is the second phase of the anti-drug campaign 'Operation Toofan: The Narco Hunt' of the Kerala Government's Home Department.
Key Information
Inauguration: The state-level inauguration was held by Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala at the Malabar College Grounds, Vengara, Malappuram on September 28, 2026.
Scope: This project was launched simultaneously in all 1200 local self-government institutions in the state. The Toofan flag was hoisted in all local bodies including village, block and district panchayats.
Objective: To take the fight against drug abuse to every ward and every household through mass participation, not just police action.
Activities:* Public awareness committees are formed under the leadership of local bodies and people's representatives and the general public are mobilized as 'Tofan Warriors' and extensive preventive activities are organized.
